With the mere 5 loaves and 2 fish that the disciples bring, Jesus feeds thousands. And that’s the spirit that fuels our 5&2 initiative: a community service effort that seeks to serve our cities with God’s love.
Impact
Started in 1997 by a group of UC Berkeley graduates, Impact’s vision is to provide academic camps and mentorship programs to children in inner-city Oakland.
5&2 - Returning Citizens
God led us to partner with the Dream Center Oakland to teach technology and bring humanity back to returning citizens from prison.
Interhigh
In 2009, InterHigh was formed to help meet the needs of local churches that did not have the resources and staffing to put on a youth program. Every Sunday, volunteers drive out to serve local churches and the youth in our communities.
5&2 - Unhoused Ministry
Teams of volunteers minister and care for the unhoused in our different communities.
Elderly Care Ministry
Bringing care and love to the elderly in convalescent homes by visiting and bringing worship service to them.
Visiting Scholars Ministry
We serve visiting scholars by providing airport pick-ups, shopping trips to the local grocery or furniture stores, and helping them practice English as their conversation partners.
